grumble
Author: Sharmishtha Basu
A bookworm transformed into an addicted writer. I love to write and illustrate them myself. By love I mean love, no half-hearted relationship, a full-fledged, passionate love, I can’t pass two days in a stretch without writing/painting (cyber), just feel empty like lovers do when their lovers are away on a tour! Even though I am thoroughly enjoying self-publishing with amazon, but if you like my work and want to publish my works in your magazine, books or better if you want to publish a book of my works please make me very happy by contacting me. Or if you want to sell my works on commission basis only!! contact me, I will be quite relieved. Honestly writing and selling your own work is a very BORING combination. So you are more than welcome! Mail me @sharmishthabasu@hotmail.com, sermistabasu@gmail.com or go to- my blog (I have 16 blogs in wordpress, all active, some on daily basis, every one on weekly basis screaming and vowing my LOVE for writing and painting- this one is first-born, so special) mydomainpvt.wordpress.com (You will get the link to my remaining blogs there) or you can check out my ezines- monthly- Agnishatdalezine.wordpress.com And Agnijaat.wordpress.com if you want fb you can go to my page facebook.com/sermistabasu, linkedin- linkedin.com/authorsharmishthabasu my email id sharmishthabasu@hotmail.com and sermistabasu@gmail.com I am in goodreads and completelynovel too http://www.goodreads.com/sharmishthabasu http://completelynovel.com/sharmishtha-basu http://amazon.com/author/sharmishthabasu I guess I said enough about myself, right? That’s exactly what grumbling does–steals our joy and laughter. Love your grumbling dark face in the clouds.
Thanks for liking my grumbling face 🙂
Stealing own laughter — indeed a source and reaction for grumblings!
When we are angry we do steal our own happiness 🙂
Our negative attitudes harm us the most! Well put.
We harm ourselves the most when we embrace a negative attitude. We should get rid of them for our own sake.
Easier said then done but truly worth trying.
Wow did you nail the emotion in this haiku! Darkly unsettling but right on the mark.
Thanks RJ. I was always the timid and shy type, forever bullied, this was my way of easing my frustration for that endless bullying 🙂
yes can be a dark shadow for one 😦

Yes. It took me years to get rid of this shadow- it ruins our own happiness, thats all it does.
Very well put! The grumbler steals their own laughter and often dampens others.
I used to grumble in private, silently, in my heart but that grim mood sure used to effect others- I can assure you. 🙂
It was really tough to get rid of that habit, because i still cant hit back to rude/cruel people. But now I let those words slide down my body like water slides down a leaf, leaving nothing but a cleaner leaf behind.
Well said Trisha!! What a kill-joy angry words can be 😦 …. and what goes around comes around 🙂 like what comes around goes around 🙂
Happy days and lots of smiles!!
it took me a lot of self coaching to get rid of this dark mood 🙂
it was absolutely silent outwards but was boiling like a volcano all the same.
😦
dragging the thorn in place of plucking it out and throwing it away.
So true…Too much of anything is bad for sure! nicely crafted haiku sharmishtha 🙂
i fully agree. Thanks sarah.
This is just a fabulous haiku. Spot on.
Thanks a million times Mike.
agree.
powerful piece.
🙂
thanks a million times my sweet friend.
Sometimes we make our own misery, and yes, wallow in it.
or build a storm in a tea cup and jump into it.
Sometimes it’s ice tea, which I don’t like, but a hot cup of tea with cream, yes. 🙂
I have had cold coffee, but i never had iced tea- may be I will check the menus next time I go to some restaurant (Chances are slim- i prefer bringing food to home).
This visual, as painting… I enjoyed so much!
Peace to you,
Laz
Thanks a lot Laz- that painting was a bit mischievous. 🙂
In bengali they say that “his/her face looked like a cloud with thunderbolts”- thats where the idea popped up from.
Nice message Trisha..
Someone is Special
