Patreon Posts 6

I know many of you are already thinking that most of my posts in my blogs are my old works, years old quite often. Where are my new works? Have I stopped writing new ones?

Well I am still writing and painting as enthusiastically as before. But these days they are channeled into four other platforms- my annual republished kindle books (https://amazon.com/author/sharmishthabasu) -they devour quite a huge no. of stories and poems every year. Quite a lot!

my bookstore in shoptly (https://shoptly.com/sharmishthabasu) Another section goes to my shoptly bookstore, here I not only publish my monthly Ezines Agnijaat and Agnishatdal I also publish a set of books of poetry and story. They are quite merrily illustrated and are available as pdf files. Yes you can read them perfectly in your cellular phone and of course in computer.

My twin Ezines Agnijaat and Agnishatdal (both English, monthlies) don’t feature much stories or poems but publish all my new essays and articles and again, truckload of illustrations.

and my patreon profile (https://patreon.com/sharmishthabasu) This one again contains bunch of stories, poems and they almost always are illustrated. If not then the stories are very long and of the type that can’t be illustrated.

I have been so stuck up with my creations that I have ignored my blogs and other social media profiles since 2015 I believe. So, if you enjoyed my works quite amply then I think it is high time that I bring you up to date, to share what I am creating these days and how can you get them!

It will be a lengthy affair, so have patience. I will be updating you about my four years of hyperactive creativity!

I will start with Patreon. It is sort of my launch-pad to make my creativity actually become my career. So since creating my profile there I have been updating 5 works each month, two are the Ezines, the remaining three are writing and paintings. Works my blogger friends thoroughly enjoyed. Stories and poems with ample amount of illustrations!

Anyone who becomes my patron there can chose from few tiers-

You can check them from my profile- https://patreon.com/sharmishthabasu

I will share some works from there, hoping they will impress potential patrons, readers who love the stories/poems I write and will love to get a few of them each month. We all have our monthly quota of books we feed the bookworms inside our brain! I did before I started spending that time into writing and painting. I used to read almost anything I could lay my hands on. So I can guess there are many bookworms like me out there who are not writers, just readers and maybe a few of them will get hooked by my writing.

Today’s story is from Agnimalya August 2017 [You can buy this copy directly from me via paypal- https://paypal.me/sharmishthabasu [don’t forget to drop me a line @ sermistabasu@gmail.com after paying in paypal so I can send you the pdf file {all these books cost $!}]

A rare flower

The final carton of her goods have just been dropped in the carton littered room when the doorbell rang, a middle aged lady was standing there with a smile, and a tray in her hand.

“You are the new neighbor?” she smiled very warmly, “I live right next door!”

Chanda nodded and invited her in, she sat down on a window they were the only places in condition of offering a seat.

“I don’t know your preferences so I just prepared the tea in the normal way, with sugar and milk. You must be tired!” she smiled sweetly.

“Thanks a lot.” Chanda was dying for a cup of tea. She has left her home at five, in the matador that brought her to Kolkata along with her worldly possession, after being almost thrown out of her own father’s home by her rogue brother.

The name of her generous neighbor was Maya, she left after procuring Chanda’s promise that she will have lunch with her.

Chanda cleaned up the room, it was a one room set, a small room, kitchen, toilet and she thanked her stars for the balcony that came as a surprise addition.

She went downstairs after bath to get some sweets and bought a bunch of roses too. Maya lived in adjoining flat, she rang the bell and it was answered by a stunningly handsome man, about her age.

He smiled at her, a pure smile without any restraint that was supposed to show up because they were total strangers and she was a woman. That very instant she realized that he was slightly autistic too.

“So you two have met, Prabal this is Chanda our new neighbor.” Maya came out of the kitchen, beads of sweat on her forehead indicated she was cooking.

Chanda followed her to kitchen, they chatted while Maya cooked damn expertly, “Don’t be surprised, it is my livelihood. I deliver lunch, dinner and breakfast at home.” She smiled broadly when she noticed Chanda’s expression of awe at her expertise.

“I have been doing it since Prabal was one year, his father did not liked the reality that he was father of a special child, so he drifted away, being illiterate I did not had much choice, so I started making pickles, papad and selling them to neighbours, then Mr. Sen became our messiah.”

“He said that I will give the fund and outdoors toil, you cook, we will start a home delivery of food. Just don’t kill people by your cooking!”

“He is an angel! We never had to look back. Now Prabal and he look after the outdoor section and I handle the girls who cook with me.”

They sat down for lunch and after that Maya made Chanda join them for dinner every night till her own cooking arrangements were made. Mr. Sen truly was a very kind man the selfless type, he voluntarily helped Chanda to get a gas connection. She felt that the relationship that Maya and Mr. Navin Sen shared was far deeper than mere friendship.

Soon they became really close, and Chanda realized that she was falling in love with Prabal, he was so different the men who she has met again and again, the one’s she thought she will be happy with but backed off when they realized she won’t be coming with a big packet of dowry, but even though they were not interested in marriage but were absolutely interested in everything else, especially after they got married.

Even though Prabal was richer than most of them but still she could feel that if he ever fell for her his love will be as pure as his heart and money will never be the restraint.

Unknown to them someone else too was noticing them, she could not guess but Maya realized that Prabal was very much in love with Chanda. She too has become very fond of Chanda.

She directly talked with Chanda, how she will love to have her as daughter in law.

“I will love to, but I will love it even more if I have Navin uncle as my father in law.” Chanda smiled. “Prabal will love it too.”
