the visitor for 3WW

adamant rapping
outside my door
the clock chimed twelve.

it was midnight!
no need to fabricate it,
for this is the truth.

I opened the door,
a peculiar creature,
was standing tall there!

barely three feet,
dressed in suit, boot and tie,
prim and trim was he.

“come along with me!”
“Get your box of medicines!”
“your service desired!”

another rap rang,
this time lot more sharply,
night watchman’s stick!

his whistle rang sharper,
as he slowly walked away,
leaving me musing.

lying in the bed,
I thought for long about him,
the dream visitor!

the rules:

Each week, I post three words. You write something using the words.
Then come back and post a link to the contribution with Mr. Linky (but please, link to the exact post, not your blog, by clicking on the post title). As always, there’s no hard-and-fast rule that you have to post on Wednesday.

But I invite everyone to check back often to read and comment on other contributions. This is, after all, a community for writers who clamor for feedback.

This week’s words:
Adamant; adjective: Refusing to be persuaded or to change one’s mind.

Fabricate; transitive verb: Invent or concoct (something), typically with deceitful intent; construct or manufacture (especially an industrial product) from prepared components.

Peculiar; adjective: Strange or odd; unusual.
